The Build of Jango Fett

Today I thought I would give a comprehensive breakdown of my two Fett builds. Both of my current builds are Glock pistols in 9mm caliber. I chose to have two pistols with the same caliber bullet to better manage my ammunition inventory. I find that the more I can eliminate variables I can find a sense of consistency to improve performance. This is why my 2 pistols are Glocks and they share a similar size and overall feel. If you read an earlier post about building my first Polymer 80, you’ll understand why my first pistol build is my Glock 19. Or should I say “Glock 19” in quotes as it is not a native/serialized Glock; but it does have Glock 19 internals and aftermarket parts.

My Glock 19 build is actually a combination of some aftermarket Glock 19 parts and a Shadow Systems MR918 frame. The Shadow Systems MR918 frame is my replacement for my Polymer 80 frame. I changed to the MR918 after testing a friends Shadow System complete pistol and really enjoyed the features the frame offered. It is a modular frame where the back of the grip is interchangeable to 3 different sizes to allow for 3 different grip thickness sizes. It also comes with an attachable proprietary magwell that was a great addition when I was reloading during the testing. The frame comes with a grip pattern already in place and its quick grippy and satisfying to the touch and has a purpose behind it. Inside the frame is an Overwatch Precision Dat trigger. The trigger is a great flat face trigger option that I have really enjoyed using over the years. This was a part that transferred over from my Polymer 80 frame. Additionally the trigger parts and pins were from my Polymer 80 build as I am currently using Taran Tactical Innovations parts to help with some of the trigger pull weight and reset to allow for a quicker follow-up and less resistance on the initial take up. The top of the gun is my favorite part. The slide I have for this build is a Brownells Glock 19 Gen 3 slide. The slide has some awesome serrations and a nice top window port for weight reduction. I then added the Trijicon SRO red dot optic on the slide and man that thing is amazing to use. The optic window is massive and the dot is so quick to pickup when at the range this thing doesn’t miss. Finally the slide is paired with a Brownells match grade barrel that is custom ported by Tradecraft Armament. The porting is custom done to match the window cut in the slide to verify the ports will work without issue and not cause any malfunctions to the pistol.

Overall this build is one of my favorites and I just love all the pieces I have added to make it work best for my hand size and personal needs. If you are interested in any of the parts I mentioned, please feel free to check out the links on the home page and connect with me on social media if you’d like more advise or information. Quality parts are what make a pistol both reliable and enjoyable to shoot.
